What We Offer
Military Cadets 1MCU is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to youth development. We provide cadets with a wide range of skills useful in both cadet activities and civilian life, including first aid and medical training, survival skills, fitness, navigation, water confidence, drill, and so much more!
Our primary focus is to develop cadets to become successful leaders in society in any career path they may choose.
We have dedicated ex-military instructors and volunteers who do their best to teach cadets our core values and guide them to reaching their full potential.
Our unit is dedicated to serving the community. We partake in community service opportunities as often as possible. These activities include
- Participating in Anzac Day and Remembrance Day services, including the Sandgate RSL dawn service and the Bracken Ridge State High School Anzac Day ceremony.
- Working closely with community organisations and providing services to assist members of the public.
Our Programs
First Aid & Medical Training
Comprehensive training in first aid and basic medical procedures to prepare cadets for emergency situations.
Survival Skills
Equipping cadets with essential survival techniques for navigating and thriving in challenging environments.
Fitness & Wellbeing
Promoting physical fitness and overall well-being through structured training and activities.
Navigation & Orienteering
Teaching cadets essential navigation skills using maps, compasses, and modern GPS technology.
Drill
Military drill helps to instill discipline, teamwork, precision, and obedience. It also helps to prepare cadets for parades, inspections, and ceremonies.
Leadership courses
Leadership courses are designed to develop leadership skills, responsibility, and decision-making in young cadets. The focus is on preparing cadets to take on leadership roles within their units and future careers, whether in the military or civilian life.
Camps and other activities
Helps cadets develop resilience, confidence, discipline, and leadership, while fostering camaraderie and a strong sense of service. Camps are held during school breaks or weekends.
Educational development
Lessons that are designed to teach cadets valuable knowledge and skills that support their personal, academic, and military development.

Military Cadets 1MCU is a non-profit youth development organisation based in Brisbane, Australia. Our mission is to provide cadets with valuable skills and experiences that will benefit them throughout their lives. We parade every Friday night from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
